2025 English Premiership Final

2025 English Premiership Final

Bath Rugby are champions of England once again.

In a nail-biting Premiership Final at Twickenham, Bath edged Leicester Tigers 23–21 to claim their first title in nearly three decades and complete a historic domestic treble.

With massive momentum swings, three yellow cards, and game-breaking moments from Finn Russell, this clash between two English giants lived up to the billing.

Here’s the full recap, result, and scoring summary from the 2025 English Premiership Grand Final:

BATH EDGE LEICESTER TO CLAIM FIRST PREMIERSHIP TITLE IN 29 YEARS

Bath Rugby 23 – 21 Leicester Tigers (HT: 13–7)

Bath clinched their first Premiership title since 1996 with a narrow 23–21 victory over Leicester Tigers at Twickenham, capping off a remarkable treble-winning season. In a fiercely contested final between two English rugby heavyweights, it was Bath’s ability to strike at key moments—and their unbreakable defensive wall in the final minutes—that secured the crown. Leicester opened the scoring through Jack van Poortvliet’s opportunistic early try, but Bath responded with a powerful finish from Thomas du Toit and a penalty from Finn Russell. Momentum swung Bath’s way when Tigers captain Julian Montoya was sent to the bin, and Russell added a drop goal and another penalty for a 13–7 halftime lead. After the break, Russell produced a game-breaking interception, sprinting clear before delivering a looping pass to Max Ojomoh for a crucial try under the posts. Solomone Kata clawed Leicester back into the match with a try, but when veteran prop Dan Cole was yellow-carded for a hit on Russell, Bath’s fly-half punished them again from the tee. Emeka Ilione’s late try set up a tense finish, but Bath held firm to claim their seventh Premiership crown—and the first domestic treble since Leicester in 2001.

With the win, Bath secure their seventh Premiership title—and their first since 1996—cementing a treble-winning campaign that will go down as one of the greatest in club history.

Leicester pushed them to the edge, but Bath’s ability to capitalize on key moments and defend with grit in the dying minutes proved the difference.

A new era of Bath dominance may just be beginning.
