Guinness Women's Six Nations Round 2

Round 2 of the 2025 Guinness Women’s Six Nations delivered fireworks across Europe—showcasing dominance, resilience, and serious attacking firepower.

France held firm at home to outclass Scotland in La Rochelle, while England put on an 11-try clinic in Cardiff led by a stunning Ellie Kildunne hat-trick. In Parma, Ireland bounced back from opening-week disappointment with an eight-try statement win over Italy, powered by Anna McGann’s clinical finishing and Dannah O’Brien’s flawless kicking.

Here are all the Round 2 match recaps and highlights:

FRANCE DOMINATE SCOTLAND IN LA ROCHELLE TO SECURE BONUS-POINT WIN

France 38 – 15 Scotland (HT: 13-7)

France maintained their unbeaten run in the 2025 Guinness Women’s Six Nations with a commanding 38-15 bonus-point victory over Scotland in La Rochelle. Led by a flawless first-half performance from fly-half Morgane Bourgeois and a moment of brilliance from Pauline Bourdon Sansus, Les Bleues pulled away in the second half to notch their second win of the campaign. Bourgeois opened the scoring with an early penalty before slicing through for a converted try minutes later. Another three-pointer from the tee made it 13-0 as France capitalized on early dominance at the set-piece. Scotland responded with a moment of opportunism, as Lisa Thomson’s hack forward allowed Emma Orr to score against the run of play, converted by Helen Nelson. France stretched their lead after the break with another Bourgeois penalty, then produced a rare piece of Six Nations history as Bourdon Sansus landed a long-range drop goal—the first in the tournament since 2014. Téani Feleu’s powerful try just after the hour mark was followed by Séraphine Okemba finishing off a spectacular offload from Kelly Arbey. Bourgeois then crossed for a well-deserved try of her own, adding the extras to finish with a personal haul of 20 points. Scotland managed a consolation try at the death through Elis Martin off a maul, but it was too little too late. France co-captain Manaé Feleu was named Player of the Match for her all-round influence in attack and defence.

RED ROSES RUN RIOT IN CARDIFF AS KILDUNNE HAT-TRICK LEADS 11-TRY MASTERCLASS

Wales 12 – 67 England (HT: 7-26)

England delivered a ruthless attacking performance in Cardiff as they dismantled Wales 68-12 in front of a record-breaking crowd of 21,186 in Round 2 of the Women’s Six Nations. Ellie Kildunne starred with a breathtaking hat-trick to earn Player of the Match honours, while debutant Abi Burton crossed twice as the Red Roses made it 31 consecutive wins in the Championship. Wales had the dream start. After applying early pressure and forcing an error from Zoe Harrison in her own in-goal area, prop Jenni Scoble powered over from close range and Keira Bevan added the conversion for a surprise 7-0 lead. But it didn’t last. Within minutes, number eight Maddie Feaunati showed pace and power to break clear and score, with Harrison converting to level the match. Then it was Megan Jones’ turn to slice through untouched for another converted score. England’s dominance began to build. Sarah Bern crashed over from short range after a loose Welsh lineout, before Feaunati grabbed her second try to stretch the lead to 26-7. Ellie Kildunne then took centre stage. Celebrating her 50th cap, the fullback scorched down the left for her first, danced in on the right for her second, and completed a sensational hat-trick by chasing down a perfectly weighted kick from Jess Breach. Wales found a spark when Carys Cox broke up the left to set up blindside Kate Williams, whose try briefly lifted the crowd. But England’s bench added even more firepower. Burton marked her debut with a powerful try before Abby Dow crossed twice in quick succession—first via a Harrison cross-kick and then on the wing after sustained pressure. Burton returned to crash over for her second just before full time, sealing England’s 11th and final try of the day and a crushing 68-12 victory.

IRELAND DOMINATE ITALY WITH EIGHT-TRY PERFORMANCE IN PARMA

Italy 12 – 54 Ireland (HT: 5-28)

Ireland delivered a clinical eight-try performance to dismantle Italy 54-12 in Parma, securing their first away win in the Women’s Six Nations since 2021 and bouncing back in style after a narrow opening-round loss to France. Centre Anna McGann grabbed a sensational hat-trick, while Aoife Dalton earned Player of the Match honors after an all-action display in attack and defence. Italy were reduced to 14 early on when Valeria Fedrighi saw yellow for a high tackle, and Ireland wasted no time capitalizing. Dalton opened the scoring from close range before Eve Higgins sliced through the defence and fed McGann for Ireland’s second. Sofia Stefan replied with a brilliant solo effort for Italy, but Ireland kept their foot on the gas—Amee-Leigh Costigan and McGann’s second secured the bonus point by the 24th minute. Ireland’s forwards joined the party after the break, with Linda Djougang and Dorothy Wall powering over. Italy momentarily closed the gap through Beatrice Rigoni, but Brittany Hogan and McGann’s third try in the final minutes wrapped up a dominant win. Fly-half Dannah O’Brien added 17 points from the tee in a flawless kicking performance.
